Karam House Istanbul
Karam Foundation is a non-profit organization based in the US and operating internationally. One of their many projects is Karam House, a STEAM based workspace for refugee kids. There is a Karam House in Reyhanli, Turkey and the organization recently launched Karam House Istanbul so needed to renovate an existing building. The building is a four story house that is classified as a historic building, meaning modifications are limited to the existing structure and spaces. My role was working on the design of the space and program allocation. I worked on prepping the drawings for the building in addition to brainstorming workshop ideas for the upcoming launch of the program. During my internship, the construction phase began so I took part in overlooking the modifications.
